1863 | The Journey Begins
Our story began in 1863 when a group of believers gathered as Muddy Creek Meeting House. United by a shared faith and a desire to follow Christ together, they laid the foundation for a church that would serve generations to come.
1874 | A Church Is Established
In 1874, the congregation was formally established as Muddy Creek Church and moved to the location that remains home today. What began as a small gathering of faithful believers became a permanent presence in the growing community.
1887 | A New Name, A Growing Community
As the surrounding area developed, the church became Clemmonsville Baptist Church, reflecting its deepening connection to the community it was called to serve.
Early 1900s | Building for the Future
As the church continued to grow, a new sanctuary was constructed, creating a permanent place for worship, discipleship, and fellowship. This marked the beginning of a long tradition of investing in spaces where lives could be transformed through Christ.
1951 | Room to Grow
With ministry expanding, new educational facilities were added to serve children, students, and adults. The church’s commitment to making disciples continued to shape every generation.
1959 | Investing in the Next Generation
The opening of the church preschool reflected a growing passion to nurture children spiritually, emotionally, socially, and academically. For decades, families have trusted CFBC to help lay a strong foundation for young lives.
2001 | A Legacy Preserved
Through significant renovations, including the installation of 36 stained glass windows, the church honored its rich heritage while creating a beautiful space that tells the story of God’s redemptive work for future generations.
2003 | Expanding Ministry
The completion of the Family Life Center created new opportunities for worship, fellowship, recreation, and community outreach. It became another way the church could serve both its members and its neighbors.
2026 | A New Chapter
In 2026, Clemmons First Baptist Church introduced a new visual identity. More than a new logo, it reflects who we are today while honoring the faithfulness of those who came before us. It points toward the future as we continue inviting people into a lifelong journey of living in and living out God’s unconditional love.
Today | One Church. One Journey.
Today, Clemmons First Baptist Church continues to be a place where people of every generation are invited to know Christ, grow in faith, and serve others. Through worship, discipleship, meaningful relationships, and mission, we seek to: Show up, join in, and pour out.
For more than 160 years, God has been faithful through every season. From a small gathering at Muddy Creek Meeting House to the vibrant ministry of today, every chapter tells the story of His grace.
Our story is still being written, and we believe the best is yet to come.
